Fleeting Nourishment (2012) - Gallery Installation
"Fleeting Nourishment" was a site specific work which was installed at the UNSW Research Station at Smiths Lake. The work discusses a fleeting encounter with a space, and the benefit drawn by the artist from the encounter. Once we drew benefit from the space, we left it and the evidence of our interaction faded away. In a similar way, the "nipples" which appear to grow organically out of the main paper bark tree of the common area will be shed by the tree with its bark. They will fall to the ground, with no one around to encounter it and be transformed back into the dirt from which the clay was formed.
