Breakdown, Rebuild (2012)
"Breakdown, Rebuild" constituted a mark of change in the artists personal life and relationships, where it was essential to transform already existing habits and ways of thinking. The performance was performed in the manner of a ritual, and consisted of melting a sculpted wax head into the mould from which it was formed. By repeating this action over and over, a build up of carbon from the burning wicks occurred, which gradually changed the piece from pristine white in colour to ashy black, and a cycle was completed.
