Reformatted found images from a 70-year-old Icelandic newspaper accompany anonymous first-person writing that began as daily diary entries over two months in Iceland in 2012. The pictures show unidentified humans in natural environments, or natural environments without any traces of human existence at all. The text, originally composed as a ‘weather diary’ à la Thomas Appletree, touches on desire, beauty, conquest, closure, lack of closure, distance, longing, obsession, possession, connections and disconnections – addressing a vacant lover, or indifferent ‘nature’, or both. Text by Amelia Groom, 2013
