E = C + G + I + X
Graffiti, a dissident medium, is layered over a grid of business cards, tools that oil the wheels of commerce. Our tag is E = C + G + I + X, the equation taught to every first year economics student, that describes the economy as being the sum of consumption, government spending, investment and net exports. The continual growth of these components is the holy grail of government policy - we have to buy more stuff and sell more stuff to keep the economy growing. But continual growth is not sustainable in a finite world, and it might be a good idea to question whether economic growth is the only way to judge the success of society. Collaboration with Jacob Zekanovic.
