The representation of the body in sculpture is so telling of the relationship we have with ourselves; the utilization of different materials, scale and installation reveal the era, values and desires of the maker.

In technology and online, there is a temptation to represent the self with the imperfections ironed out- made beautiful, flawless, exciting and efficient.

However, in the end, it is the ‘undesirable’ elements that we fall in love with in another- the fragile, disposable, exposed and exhausted.

These are the beginnings of intimacy.

My sculpture seeks to depict these binaries of the human condition.
