A straight line through curved space, 2013
The current work-in-progress is a combined performance/projection that is concerned with the physical and philosophical aspects of the velodrome, presented in a way which highlights the formal qualities of its components. The performance is inspired by the idea of an interactive feedback loop, and how the sport shapes the velodrome, which in turn shapes the sport ad infinitum. Parallels can be drawn between this process and the aesthetics of the velodrome itself (that is, the experience of travelling in a straight line, but through a curved space and ending up at the point where you started - the experience of journeying but changing only yourself).
