Dear COFA
Gifting is one of the Major themes Allan McCollum’s Shapes project investigates. Dear COFA is a work which investigates this theme. The work is an homage to the 3rd year students of Drawing and Painting class 2013. Before entering COFA I had a very narrow view of how my art should look like and what discipline I should follow. But after having gone through art school I have discovered new processes, technologies and disciplines to express myself. And a lot of my new found artistic expression is due to my peers who have assisted in me in my creative development. Without their guidance, criticism, support and rivalry I wouldn’t have arrived to where I am artistically. So it is to them I show my gratitude, respect and love, and I show it through this artwork “Dear COFA”. This is my gift to them.
