The Ceramic Rider
This machine explores the relationship of human interactions in the production line. While many production lines are employed to produce fast, precise, and identical outcomes, more products loose their uniqueness and character because of it. In contrast to that, this machine focuses on presenting a unique production process that allows the human to express their creativity through natural forces and chance. By allowing the audience to observe the process, I hope to engage a broader audience with an appreciation for ceramics. Most components of the machine and the clay itself has been collected locally from council clean ups, old bicycles, and tips.
