REVITALISE
Decadence & Decay Dress
REVITALISE is a three piece couture fashion collection inspired by the concept of 'beauty and ugly'.
Central to the vision of this project was to see past the 'ugly' exteriors of certain organisms and bring to light the beautiful elements that we seldom see. The metaphors that inspired the range included, grotesque forms of lichen, decaying flora and fungi.
Revitalise means to 'renew' or 'to bring life' and the range aimed to 'revitalise' rather than 'alter' the images of these metaphors through the medium of fashion and digital print, while simultaneously, provoke creative thought and understanding.
Each of the three couture dresses were designed specifically to showcase the beautiful elements of the metaphors used and takes inspiration from the current fashion trends of the 2013 Fall/Winter season.
