Non-places of the Everyday I
In our fast paced world, places exist that are not concerned with identity, history or urban relationships. They are temporary spaces for passage, communication and consumption. Supermarkets, as one of the examples, are a focal feature of late-20th century capitalism. They are shielded by credit card numbers and passwords that create safety as well as solitude. My work aims to translate and capture specific moments of isolation within these non-places of the everyday. It exhibits the presence of modernity and the absence of humanity.
