The COFA Annual 2013

I am interested in modern day feminism and exploring the power of social media. My work is influenced by contemporary popular culture, the history of feminism and social media trends in a world that is constantly bombarded with the idea that feminism is an outdated and extremist idea. I create text-based stencils, place them in public spaces, capture them in situ using photography and share them as printed images and through social media. I aim to invert preconceived, and often negative, ideas about feminism and photography itself by challenging stereotypes, stigma and the traditional photographic form.
