Barely there
Jewellery is arguably one of the most intimate items that we can choose to wear yet the potential for a meaningful relationship between jewellery and it’s wearer is often overlooked. In contrast to the notion of decoration and adornment, 'Barely there' aims to explore the ‘invisible’ emotional value of jewellery rather than simply its aesthetic qualities. It’s about designing for the wearer - jewellery designed to be ‘felt’ rather than seen. By exploring hidden places on the body, the private relationship between wearer and their jewellery is heightened as they alone are conscious of the jewellery’s true form and contact.
