Transmigration of My Mother
Transmigration of My Mother is a personal exploration into the traditional Chinese customs in relation to the afterlife and death and embodying significant memories and narratives of the life in which my mother lived into bespoke heirloom inspired pins.
This project is a tribute to her being and a celebration of the life in which she lived, as it is believed within Chinese culture, that the deceased will become reborn again in a spiritual realm. Transmigration of My Mother has enacted as a means of healing and overcoming for myself as the journey assisted in understanding the impermanence of life.
