Kalision - "Our feelings, memories, and experiences colour our world. Each, unique in their own way, is why no two realities share the same colour."
Drawing upon nature, her everyday surroundings and her interest in photomedia, Janice captures the presence and inherent beauty of the subject in her work. Amongst the rush and stress of everyday life, we often overlook the beauty that is present within our surroundings. Janice’s work highlights the innate relationship that humans have with the natural world, attracting awareness to our inborn perceptions of the world. Kalision, a play on kaleidoscope vision, provides an abstract representation of Janice’s perception of her surroundings. Merging time-lapse photography with a kaleidoscope effect to symbolise her belief in the idea that everyone’s perception of reality is multi-faceted, Kalision captivates the mind, body and soul by a meditative experience and encouraging the act of self-reflection.
