Peel Me Like An Onion (2012)
Prompted by the question of the properties of painting within the context of the face of the 'death of painting', this work is a response which highlights the multi-layered application of paint in both physical and conceptual senses. The complexity of the layered paper sculpture reflects the complexity of painting as a discipline while also suggesting that painting is not dead, but that there is a future for the discipline that the eye cannot yet see.
