Martin Cordoba’s work involves melting down lollies and using their liquid form to create paintings. For Cordoba, lollies reflect a culture of mass waste and modern consumerism. His aim is to create a new form of expression through this disposable medium, exposing both it’s abjection and beauty. This experimental material has enabled him to discover a wider variation of colour, texture and form than would be available using traditional mediums.
