Christine has a background in traditional textile crafts and a passion for all things handmade, both of which influence her contemporary art practice. In her conceptually driven work she is searching for the spontaneous and the random to contrast with the repetitive and the detailed. Placing these concepts along side historical and current socio political narratives. Using hand based skills she works with the surfaces of a variety of fibre-based materials and directly onto the gallery wall, creating both two and three-dimensional artworks. She also produces installations in which she combines textile elements with digital photography, sound and video.
