The COFA Annual 2013

Katie is a Sydney based textile artist who uses recycled and organic materials. She uses organically sourced materials to dye and create patterns mainly on cloth. Her work often takes on different forms such as installations and sculptural forms. Most of her works refers to the need for recycling materials and appreciating the natural environment that we are surrounded in.
She uses many techniques within her work to embellish cloth. Mark making is the main focus of her practice, especially techniques such as hand stitching, felting, printing and appliqué.
