The COFA Annual 2013

Resume

Sophie’s practice is primarily concerned with interrogating questions regarding corporeality, the mind and the ‘in-between’ through eco-dyeing (dyeing with plant materials) and drawing.

Currently Sophie’s practice is focused in investigating, ‘What is drawing?’ Her latest series, Investigation into Drawing, is approached as an imaginary expedition into the land of drawing and drawn species. The resulting works are considered as drawings created in collaboration between the ramblings and wanderings of Sophie’s mind, the plant materials, time, and the sun.

Presently Sophie is collaborating with an Australian t-shirt label, working to create garments hand ‘drawn’ with plant materials.
