Natasha Burbury uses art to diffuse ideas and questions about herself. She creates works that delve into the personal in order to connect to the universal. Often painting deformed figures with an array of penises and boobs throughout. She often exposes the inner biological systems of herself in order to grain an intimate connection with the audience. Natasha’s work includes themes of sexual intercourse and life and death and how they all have an engaging relationship with nature. She is largely informed by theories of Julia Kristeva, Del Kathryn Barton and artists Egon Schiele, Tracey Emin and Berlinde De Bruyckere.
