The COFA Annual 2013

Amanda Skye Smyth (b.1974) resides in Huskisson, Jervis Bay on the South Coast of NSW. She has completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Textiles. Amanda’s work has a clear focus on regaining possession of the female figure not just as an individual but as a vessel of motherhood and myth. Her textile works attempt an analysis of the stratifications that reside within women as they transition from female individual womanhood into female individual motherhood. Her works are concerned with the body as vessel.
