The COFA Annual 2013

Resume

I have a curious approach, often drawn to materials around me. Through a predominant textile art practice, I explore my inner child through a play and experimentation of everyday, accessible, ordinary materials and transforming their aesthetics and function through the process of deconstruction and reconstruction. Intuitively driven, my making hovers around lingering on the edges of randomness and controlled, which is reflected in concepts explored in my work: culture, family connections, transformation, and the unexpected. A recurring theme is my work is the significance of thread — how everything binds and connects us together in this world.
