The COFA Annual 2013

Resume

My current art practice attempts to explore forms of existence through a construction of artificial worlds, landscapes and the entities that inhabit them. Through a process of foraging, intuitive collection and arrangement of disregarded organic materials sourced from domestic environments my work examines perceptual experiences such as taste, texture and feeling within a utopian framework. These ‘micro worlds’ offer new opportunities to engage the senses and a curiosity with the natural environment. Drawn to the aesthetics of waste my work considers how organic objects can coalesce to take on new forms and meanings. What is the essence of material experience?
